The NorthWest Civic Association of Hicksville
was founded in 1951 to unite the northwest section of Hicksville,
for the mutual welfare, civic, social and educational advancements
and to work for the general betterment of this community.
The civic
association represents the residents in the area served by the Burns
Avenue Elementary School. It is bounded on the south by the
Long Island Railroad, on the west by the North Hempstead-Oyster
Bay town line, on the north by the Northern State Parkway,
an east-west line through the center of 16th Street and on the east
by the center of Broadway (Route 107).
Meetings are held on the 3rd Monday of the
month at the William Bennett Community Center in Hicksville (also
known as the Hicksville Community Center). It is located at 28 W.
Carl St. off Route 107 behind the old Chroma Paint. The meetings begin
at 7:30pm and are open to members of NWCAH and invited guests. We
meet September to June, except in months that close the building due
to holidays. |
